Time and temperature dependent softening of a novel maraging steel fabricated by laser metal deposition

چکیده
Durability is a critical factor for hot stamping dies from an economic point of view. Refurbishing the by depositing new material instead replacement promising method to reduce cost. For this reason, newly developed maraging steel (NMS) was cladded on work tool means directed energy deposition. After optimized tempering, exposures at high temperatures were carried out NMS in order examine softening resistance. The microstructural evolution systematically characterized using combination optical microscopy (OM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron (SEM), Auger spectroscopy (AES) and transmission (TEM). precipitate identified as Laves phase. coarsening phase considered main reason thermal temperatures. behavior also simulated revised Langer-Schwartz-Wagner (LSW) model, which good agreement with experimental observations. Moreover, mathematical model strengthening successfully applied evaluate steel. This can be used predict hardness/strength investigated during its high-temperature service.
